Indulge In Sporty Fun At Kallang Splash-N-Surf This March Holiday!
Whew, it’s hot here isn’t it? With Singapore’s weather forecast going up to 30 degrees during the March Holidays, I think we all agree that it’ll be the perfect time for a swim.
Kallang Splash-N-Surf offers an indoor swimming pool just for that reason. Rain or shine, your little ones can enjoy splashing around in their Kids’ Water Playground – for free!
There’s also a simulated surfing zone for your more adventurous little ones. Watch them have a go at skim-boarding and other water sports this March Holiday. And afterwards, indulge in a gentle ride around the Lazy River while enjoying the view of Singapore’s skyline.

Water play is actually really beneficial for children with autism, according to Brainwave. The weightlessness that comes with floating in water can be quite soothing and the sensory simulation of water engages multiple senses at once.
All this is to say that Kallang Splash-N-Surf is a great place for our little ones with special needs. In fact, ONE Intervention Centre recently brought our students there for a day of splashing fun – check it out on our Events page!

Challenge Yourself At Chess At 3
Did you know that the International Olympic Committee considers Chess as a sport? This one is for your sweat-shy kids who still want to try a new sport this March Holiday.
Though, don’t be fooled into thinking that chess is a ‘soft’ sport – it improves cognitive skills such as memory, has been known to improve the symptoms of ADHD, and teaches children to think ahead. Healthline has an excellent article on the plethora of benefits that playing chess can offer!
Chess At 3 gives classes for students of all levels, whether they’re just starting out at chess or mini grandmasters-in-training. Through storytelling and interactive lessons, they break down complicated game theory into easy lessons that kids can understand and absorb.
The best part? All trial classes are free!

Why Try A Sport This March Holidays?
Exercise benefits everyone, and especially benefits children with special needs. Physically, your children will have better lung capacity and increased muscle strength. This improves their physical health.
For children with autism, exercise improves their spatial awareness and coordination. Check out Healthy Children’s article for one parent’s touching testimonial on their child’s journey with sports.

Exercise also provides children social, emotional and mental benefits. Simply put, sports give them a community. Through this, they can make friends who share a common interest with them and find their own support network.
And lastly, sports builds mental fortitude in kids. If they lose a game, they learn how to pick themselves back up and try harder. If they win, they learn what they did right and what more they need to do to keep that streak going.
Beyond all that fancy jargon though – it’s fun. Every once in a while, your child probably just wants to run around, scream, and play with people their age. It’s universal. Even adults want to, sometimes.
Let kids be kids and sign them up for now some of these sports this March Holiday!
